1. Meeting called to order at 7 pm by Ellie Martindale.
2. Attendee Status:
Present: Chuck Cenkner, Glen Dunbar, Kathy Marley-Dunbar, Ellie Martindale, Marie Iaria, Shirley Marks, Bob Hosteter, Mary Beth Follett, Jill Lawley, Theresa Bell Mowery, Bill Renz, Kathryn Nonas-Hunter, Joanne Kaldy.
Excused: Gene Gangwish, Brian Moore, Melissa Snyder.
3. Previous Meeting Minutes: Amended to include Brian Moore being added to the SNA board. He will act as communications chairman. Approved as amended.
4. Treasury Activity Report: Beginning Balance: Income: Expenses: Ending Balance: $2773.67
5. Committee Reports:
Crime Watch: First Tuesday in August is National Night Out. Suggestion has been made for a Shipoke Neighborhood Dog’s Night out.
Committee comprised of crime watch captains in the city met to discuss crime issues in the city. There were 18 people present to meet with the receiver of the city. Communication needs to improve for this group. Also, support and commitment from city leadership would be beneficial in fulfilling the mission of this group. Ellie attended this meeting.
Ron Buxton’s office called Glen about the tents under the bridge. Nothing has been done at this point. Three tents are still under the bridge.
Street lights have not been repaired. It is an issue throughout the city. Crime is a concern with areas being dark.

Social Committee: Spring Social: Speaker for the meeting will be John Harris Jr. for $ 50.00 He will give a talk on history of Shipoke. The event will start at 4:00PM; General Meeting will start at 4:30PM with speaker at 5:00PM.
Easter Egg Hunt: Katherine Rios and Jen Poppy will plan the Easter Egg Hunt. $100 has been allocated for the budget.

Communications: The sign on issue has been corrected. Susan Fahey will also work on updating the web site. At the upcoming general meeting Ellie Martindale will request more volunteers to help with the web site.

Beautification: Clean up dates discussed. Race Street Park repairs should happen in April. Three bushes were destroyed by a car going 120 mph last Saturday night. Kathryn Nonas-Hunter will follow up with going after the driver for restitution. Bob Hostetter will speak with Erica at Highland Gardens to get estimates for repair of the bushes.

Fundraising: House tour 20 homes will be on tour May 12th is their scheduled date. A questionnaire and waiver of liability was sent to the homeowners participating on the tour. It is intended to be a home and garden tour. It will be supported by restaurants. Intent is to taste and sample. Web site is running and tickets are available to purchase. There will be transportation available. Parking will be on city island. HYP will have a party on city island following the tour. A volunteer from HYP will be assigned to each house. The tour will run from 1 – 4 pm.

Flea Market: July 7th, 2012. Harrisburg Magazine simply the best voting is now until April 1st. Go to to vote.

6. Old Business:
Non-functional Streetlights: Front street lights will not be repaired until money and parts are available. Nancy Fenstamacher’s light fell with the flood. She will eventually repair it.

Bridge lights: Lighten Up Harrisburg: new group to raise $4,700 to repair lighting on walnut street bridge because city cannot afford to repair it.

Contractor Parking: Some workers have still been parking in the Race Street park.

Vine Street Church: further activity has not taken place on repairs.

7. New Business:
Former daycare and former greater Harrisburg arts council houses are in disrepair. Bob Hostetter will check on who owns these buildings.
The Cow will move back in April.
8. Next Meeting: April 9, 2012 at the home of Kathy and Glen Dunbar.
