MEETING MINUTES

MONDAY, July 9, 2012

1. Meeting called to order at 7 pm by Ellie Martindale.

2. Attendee Status:
Present: Chuck Cenkner, Glen Dunbar, Kathy Marley-Dunbar, Ellie Martindale, Marie Iaria, Shirley Marks, Bob Hosteter, Mary Beth Follett, Jill Lawley, Theresa Mowery, Kathyn Nonas-Hunter, Brian Moore.

Excused: Gene Gangwish, Joanne Kaldy, Melissa Snyder

3. Previous Meeting Minutes: Approved.

4. Treasury Activity Report:

Beginning Balance: $2019.09
Income: (Flea Market) 535.00

5. Committee Reports:

  • Crime Watch: National Night Out planned for August 7, 2012. Band has been hired to play for 90 minutes for $300. The band will play in the Race Street Park.
  • Social Committee: The SNA picnic is planned for the evening of July 14, 2012. The grilling will start at 5 pm. Joanne Kaldy and Mary Beth Follett will be in charge of the picnic due to Jill Lawley’s conflict for that weekend.
  • Communications: The idea of using a protected password for the web site was discussed. It was tabled for the time being.
  • Beautification: No report.
  • Fundraising: House Tour – proceeds will be paid soon by the HYP. A check will be sent for $3000.00.
    Flea Market – pre-registration proceeds are $770. 59 spaces are reserved, and 82 spaces are prepaid. $65 was received in donations. Expenses to date are $233, and deposits are $228. Volunteers include use of Gene Gangwish’s grill, manning of the grill and bake sale, traffic control, and registration. Advertising is out in The Burg and Paxton Herald. Pinnacle Health has allowed the parking lots to be used for attendee parking.3’ x 10’ banners are ready and will be placed in the city.Bake sale items should be dropped off at Ed Taylor’s home on July 13th or brought to the bake sale table the day of the Flea Market. The committee will plan final preparations at 7 pm July 11, at the home of Bill Renz.

6. Old Business:

  •  UGI repairs were completed. The area is now safe for the foot traffic to be generated during the Flea Market.
  • Shipoke t-shirts will have a new design. The target is to have a new design by the fall general meeting.

7. New Business:

  •  Constant Contact: Local sales tax will now have to be paid. The annual fee is $120 + sales tax.
