Board Meeting Minutes

September 9, 2013

1. Meeting called to order at 7PM by Ellie Martindale.

2. Members Present: Ellie Martindale, Shirley Marks, Marie Iaria, Kathy Marley-Dunbar, Glen Dunbar, Chuck Cenkner, Mary Beth Follett, Bill Renz, Bob Hostetter, Joanne Kaldy, Jill Lawley, Gene Gangwish, Judy Polliard, Brian Moore.

Members Excused: Theresa Bell Mowery

3. Review Minutes: Previous meeting, approval tabled until next meeting.

4. Treasurer’s Report:
BEGINNING BALANCE: $7568.94
ACTIVITY: 500.00 (RE DEPOSIT OF BAND PAYMENT)

5. Committee Reports:

  • Crime Watch: Assault reported on Vine Street from crime report. No further information is available. The tent city under I-83 has expanded, and the city is picking up the garbage produced by its residents. A van comes occasionally to serve food to the homeless.
  • Social: General Meeting to be scheduled for September 29th at 4 pm. The band will play at 5 pm in the Race Street Park. Location to be determined – Char Magaro will make her property on Race Street available.Band will begin to play at 5 pm in the Race Street Park. Race Street will be blocked off due to the electric cords. It will be connected at Kathryn Nonas Hunter’s home on Race Street.
  • Beautification: Fall Cleanup scheduled for October 5th at 8 am. Items to be tended include release of girdle wires from last year’s tree planting, weeding of the Kiddie Park, and general clean up where needed.Thanks to Tom and Gina King for painting the graffiti under the railroad bridge. A letter of thanks will be sent.
  • Communication: A flyer will be sent out announcing the general meeting, band, and fall clean up.

6. Old Business:

Election of Officers and Board: Names have been gathered by Glen Dunbar. Slate will be presented at the General Meeting.

Street Lights: Some have been repaired. City crew has designated 6 work days a month for street light repair. 52 damaged lights were paid by insurance. Jill Lawley and Ellie Martindale will resurvey the neighborhood.

7. New Business:

Halloween Parade: Date and budget to be determined. It will be for kids and dogs this year.

Next Meeting: October 14th, at 7 pm at the home of Ellie Martindale.
